Joe Perry has been the heart and soul of Massachusetts Envirothon since at least 1998. At a very low estimate, we think he taught over 4000 young people to identify MA trees through the Envirothon Program. He retired from MA DCR in November 2020 and we miss him (and his hugs) very much. He has recently been honored by DCR (more pictures and Envirothon stories!) and the MA Forest Alliance.
