Field Workshop for Coaches

Saturday October 1, 8:30a.m.-3:30 p.m.  Agenda

MassWildlife’s Wyane F. MacCallum Wildlife Management Area, Westborough

background & skills & approaches for introducing high school students to natural resource conservation & management with connections to Next Generation Science Standards

In-depth sessions
-include forest, water, soil, and wildlife conservation
-will be led by experienced natural resource managers
-offer plenty of networking with experienced Envirothon educators

Massachusetts Envirothon Fall Workshop for Teams and Coaches

Wednesday, November 16, 2016 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Cost: Free for registered teams, otherwise $10 per student or coach* Sign up by Wednesday Nov 2.

This workshop is open to coaches and team members — even those who are just becoming acquainted with the program. Five or more workshops will run concurrently, offering a variety of sessions on each of the topic areas (forests, soils, water and wildlife), this year’s current issue, eco-stations, environmental skills and campus tours. Resource materials will also be provided. Participants will be asked to cover their own parking and bring or purchase their own lunch.

Ecostation Workshop for Teams and Coaches

Location: Worcester Technical High School

Cost: Free for registered teams, otherwise $10 per student or coach Sign up by January 24

Topics will be Soils, Forests, Water and Wildlife. There will be three concurrent workshop sessions.Participants should bring a bag lunch.

Spring Workshop for Teams and Coaches

Date: Saturday April 8, 2017 8:45a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Location: Alden Labs, Holden

Cost: Free for registered teams, otherwise $10 per student or coach Sign up by March 28

This workshop includes a special session on the Current Issue. All four station topics will also be covered, in addition to current issue special guests, presentation skills and outdoor hands-on sessions. We hope to run a mini-Envirothon in the afternoon to practice for the event in May.  Bring a bag lunch or purchase a sandwich on site.
