2017 EJ Grant

The Massachusetts Envirothon has received a grant to assist high-school-aged youth from environmental justice (EJ) communities and their advisors to participate in 2016-2017. This is a no-risk opportunity for new teams to participate in this popular year-long, civic-engagement / sustainability education program. Funds are limited; the Mass. Envirothon Steering Committee will review all applications and preference will be given to teams that will attend a workshop.

Eligibility: Applications will be accepted from schools/organizations whose teams have not been able to participate in recent years due to lack of funding, as well as teams from schools/organizations that are new to Envirothon. All teams that apply must be from a community listed as a Massachusetts EJ community, at least in the income category; please refer to http://www.mass.gov/anf/docs/itd/services/massgis/ej-cities-towns.pdf.

Available Funding:

Up to $300 for new teams (have not competed in the last 3 years)

Up to $150 for returning teams

This may be applied towards: registration for all workshops and Mass. Envirothon 2017; or transportation and/or substitute-teacher costs (depending on number of applications funded);

Deadline to apply is February 16, 2017.  EJ Application.  For more information, please contact MassEnvirothon.
